Bit Main Street Introduces SOTSpiral™, the Source-of-Truth Architecture Behind DappSprint™

New umbrella framework aims to keep humans and AI working from the same understanding of a project

MARSHALL, Texas, 09/20/2026: Bit Main Street today announced SOTSpiral™, a development architecture built around a single principle: every project needs an authoritative Source of Truth, and everything else should evolve around it. The framework will serve as the umbrella for DappSprint™, the company's structured development workflow.

The name combines "SOT," for Source of Truth, with "Spiral," representing continuous, iterative development. Together, the company says, the two ideas describe a system in which projects stay anchored to an authoritative source while moving through repeated cycles of planning, building, evaluating, learning, and improving.

"It is not simply a brand name," said David James Green, founder and CEO of Bit Main Street. "The name describes the system itself."

Addressing Fragmented Project Knowledge

Green said SOTSpiral responds to a common cause of project failure: not a lack of ideas, but the fragmentation of them. Requirements change, conversations get lost, and decisions end up buried in chat threads. AI tools, meanwhile, can generate answers without knowing what has already been decided.

Project information often lives across emails, meeting transcripts, databases, requirements documents, developer notes, AI conversations, GitHub issues, and old project plans. When a new developer or AI assistant joins, they must work out what is actually true.

SOTSpiral starts from a canonical Source of Truth that captures what is being built, why, which requirements have been accepted, and which decisions govern the project. Memory, chat history, and research can support it, but none automatically becomes the authority.

Iteration Without Starting Over

The Spiral side of the architecture rejects the idea of software development as a straight line from plan to build to launch. Instead, projects move through a repeating cycle of Plan → Build → Evaluate → Improve → Repeat.

"Each pass through the spiral should make the project more complete while preserving what has already been learned," Green said. The spiral does not mean endlessly starting over, he added. Each iteration builds on an authoritative project history.

How DappSprint Fits

Under the new structure, the company defines the relationship among the three components as follows:

• SOTSpiral™ is the umbrella development intelligence architecture.
• DappSprint™ is the structured workflow used to move a project from idea to implementation.
• The Spiral Development Model is the iterative philosophy guiding how a project progresses.

DappSprint begins before any code is written, moving through five stages: Discovery, Source of Truth, Build Plan, Spiral Execution, and Iteration. It also makes progress explicit rather than expecting an AI system to infer it from conversation history, tracking work as Section → Iteration → Task → Current Step → Completed → Next → Blocked.

"The system should know where the project actually is," Green said. "Not infer it."

Memory as Supporting Evidence

SOTSpiral also sets rules for how AI memory is used. Memory acts as supporting evidence beneath the Source of Truth and is not allowed to quietly rewrite project requirements. The architecture's hierarchy runs from System Truth to Project Source of Truth, Build Plan, Memory and Retrieval, Reasoning, and finally Execution.

The distinction, Green said, is between "the system remembers someone saying this" and "this is currently an approved project requirement." For serious development work, he said, those are not the same thing.

Beyond Decentralized Applications

DappSprint originally grew out of a sprint focused on decentralized applications, and Web3 remains part of Bit Main Street's DNA. The company says the architecture now extends well beyond that category and can be applied to:

Looking Ahead

Bit Main Street describes SOTSpiral as a framework for maintaining continuity between ideas, requirements, decisions, memory, planning, execution, and continuous improvement. The company says the architecture is still evolving, which it calls intentional given the philosophy behind it.
